The Haliburton Highlands Outdoors Association Visitor Centre is open to the public for tours from Monday to Friday.  Please check out our directions and contact information for more on public tours and hours.

The visitor’s centre features displays about hunting and fishing heritage, fish populations, the Haliburton Gold – Lake Trout and Project and Aquaculture.  The visitor’s centre and hatchery sit on a 27-acre property located south of the village of Haliburton on County Road 1 (Gelert Rd).  The location is easily accessible to local residents and visitors.  The grounds contain an extensive trail system, of which the majority has been used as part of our archery range.  The remaining trail traverses 3 pocket wetlands and provides ample opportunities for education on wetland structure, functions, wildlife and waterfowl.  The trails are to the south of the centre, as are a new treatment wetland system and the outdoor fish ponds.  To the north of the centre is a large field used in the summer for soccer clubs and as an archery range on Tuesday and Sundays.  The County Rail Trail runs adjacent to and behind the property.
